Painter'S Lodge - Campbell River

Had a lovely stay filled with beautiful ocean views and a cozy room. the staff were great in recommending local attractions, and I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast despite its simplicity.

Fab food quality.

Staff and location - all was very good! The rooms were huge with garden view, the staff were incredible. It was based in neat building in a marvellous and best possible location, on the establishment.

Beautiful Location with Friendly Staff

The atmosphere was peaceful and the staff was cute and helpful throughout my visit. More dining options would greatly enhance the overall experience.

Good selection on your menu'S. Dinning room service was excellent. Not so good in the pub!!!

Water in the pool was murky. Much to much chemicals in the water.Furniture in the pool area needs to be replaced.Should have a safety bar for entering and exiting the shower/bath in the room.

The ocean view room was fantastic! Enjoyed the whale watching tour and relaxing by the dock.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Peggy from the giftshop went out of her way to help me.

Lots of delicious food for meals. Pleasant and accommodating people working here. Marvellous location on the establishment, easy to get anywhere.

great stay but minor room issues

The enclosed deck area was perfect for our puppy. The garden view offered a nice escape into nature. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and easy access to outdoor areas.

The room had a few maintenance issues that need addressing.

This is hard to say because we liked so much--gourmet food, lovely location, good outdoor tour activities, friendly staff, etc. The big, unplanned activity we did was go on a whale watching tour....it was excellent! We found a pod of orcas early on, and then we located and watched a lone grizzly, feeding in an estuary. Our guide was terrific, the weather was amazing, the scenery was stunning. Painter's Lodge exceeded our expectations of a short getaway from home...we'd like to go back.

This is a small comment, not a complaint......the rooms in the main lodge show that they were built in the 1980'S. They are well-maintained and clean, but the sink space is very small, and there is almost no place to put your toiletries case, small hand luggage, etc. We put our luggage on the floor...a luggage bench would have been useful, especially with all the latest info on bed bugs and how to avoid them (never put your luggage on a bed, always use a luggage bench, etc.).

Nice place with very good amenities. Loved the lodge and ability to use April Point at the same time.

No screens on windows so mosquitoes were a problem in the room. Other guests had smashed them on the walls and ceiling.

Couples looking for a great view will love this

The view from our accommodation was great overlooking the water and seeing wildlife like seals and bald eagles. Sitting on the balcony in the evening, with the water in front and the smell of saltair, was just. Perfect.

It wasn't a bargain, but still acceptable.

Unfortunately I had trouble with my booking. Hotel mentioned they never received the reservation I made through Booked.net from Booked.net!

Location

I thought the room we had in the main lodge was very poorly designed & the amenities were rather sparse.
